Abstract

Vocabulary development is one of the most fundamental components of language learning and plays a significant role in improving students’ speech skills. A rich vocabulary base enables students to actively participate in communication, and understand spoken and written texts more effectively. However limited vocabulary blocks the way of accurate and confident communication. This article emphasizes the significance of systematic vocabulary instruction in speech development, identifies major factors influencing vocabulary acquisition, and discusses practical strategies for enhancing students’ lexical competence. The study mainly focuses on the role of teachers, meaningful language exposure, and interactive learning activities in promoting students’ oral communication skills and overall language proficiency.
