This article discusses the use of metaphorical expressions in the English language. It analyzes their structural characteristics, figurative meaning, and cognitive function in communication. Furthermore, the paper highlights the cultural influences embedded in metaphors and their role in shaping perception and understanding, especially for language learners and translators.
