Аннотация:
Respiratory distress (RD) in newborns is one of the most life-threatening conditions that occur within the first hours or days after birth, characterized by oxygen deficiency and carbon dioxide accumulation in the body. This condition is among the leading causes of perinatal mortality. Etiologically, respiratory distress is a multifactorial syndrome resulting from pulmonary immaturity, perinatal asphyxia, infections, congenital malformations, and metabolic disorders. The study observed 120 newborns (60 male and 60 female). The severity of RD was assessed based on clinical and laboratory parameters. Analysis showed that the risk of developing respiratory distress in preterm infants was 3.2 times higher.
