A COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION OF THE RS713041 (C718T) GPX4 GENE POLYMORPHISM AND BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF CARDIOTOXIC COMPLICATIONS IN ACUTE LEUKEMIA

Main Article Content

Abstract:

The development of cardiotoxicity is characterized by significant interindividual variability. Even with similar chemotherapy regimens, the severity of myocardial damage varies significantly, indicating the involvement of individual, including genetically determined, myocardial vulnerability factors. Oxidative stress, which leads to cardiomyocyte damage, impaired contractile function, and the development of electrical instability, is considered one of the key mechanisms of cardiotoxic damage. In recent years, particular attention has been paid to ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of regulated cell death caused by the accumulation of lipid peroxidation products.
